Effusion Tote Bag

Design for Oakland University's Art, Art History and Design Department.

PROBLEM

IDEATION

SOLUTION

  • The Oakland University Art, Art History and Design department held a competition for artists to design a tote bag.
  • My personal style has always revolved around the idea of things continuously flowing, and I create a lot of artwork with a meditative, flow-like structure. I wanted to use my personal style and integrate it into a design that would look professional yet playful for the AAHD department.
  • I wrote AAHD out in Adobe Illustrator and centered it, then created a new layer to draw on top. I drew around the letters and let my personal style work for me. I made sure to go back through and adjust anchor points and uneven spacing to make everything seem clean and professional. After finishing my design, I submitted my work into the competition and won! My design was printed on multiple tote bags and is still used for the AAHD department.
